Project GEC is our current preoccupation. The GEC 5445 is a five valve superhet radio with three AM bands plus Gram input. We are restoring the original radio and adding a Bluetooth TM facility. The original bakelite cabinet has been resprayed in a piano black finish to replace the sixty year-old fake wood finish which had badly deteriorated. Modifications include fitting a 'quiet' 5 volt supply for the digital bits as well as led lighting to replace the dead dial lamps.
